Didn't see anyone else mention it but yesterday they aired Ah, Sweet Mouse-Story of Life for the second time since the block's premiere instead of Baby Butch, which they originally listed on their website's schedule.

Muzzle Tough had some kind of frame interpolation which looked kinda ugly. In addition to that, the right track had the music/effects track mixed over the original track.

In any case, it was the version made for the VHS collection in 1998, not the master from 3 years later in the I Love Tweety DVD. They look pretty similar anyway.

Probably not deinterlaced at all, just converted from an interlaced master.

Rocket to Mars and A Jolly Good Furlough aired with the stereotypical depictions of the Japanese edited out, along with the lines "Maybe it's a Jap" and "Did ya shoot a lotta Japs?"

No new restorations in the Tom and Jerry block, but it was cool having all the non-Tom and Jerry cartoons today be Tex Avery cartoons.

The Awful Orphan got an HD upgrade with the audio at the correct pitch after all these years (though it has also been subjected to photoshopped title cards).

Just converting straight from an interlaced master to progressive footage is not deinterlacing (or at least, not from how I know the term). Doing an actual inverse telecine processing would have been real deinterlacing.

All the Tom and Jerry cartoons have an HD master by now. 3 of them which aren't on the "adult collector" Amazon playlist are on HBO.

I have no idea how many Tex Avery shorts though, so it's gonna be very interesting. They're mostly gonna be trash versions anyway.

Northwest Hounded Police was the only Tex Avery short aired in SD if I'm correct. The others are Beanstalk Bunny, Muzzle Tough and all the non T&J/Tex Avery shorts.

I wonder if MeTV will air some western shorts with Native American depictions considering their lineup with a good share of Westerns, though I wouldn't count on it considering MeTV is promoting this for the familt

Wild and Woolfy and Slap Happy Lion were definitely Turner era masters, the latter with some criminal DVNR.

I should mentioned that the Betty Boop short "On With the New" (is that even PD?) aired on Saturday and it was the VHS DVNR print.

Just remembered what day it is... why wasn't One Meat Brawl aired today? Seems like a good opportunity to air that one, now they gotta wait a whole 'nother year!

Trip for Tat airs in 2 weeks, they'll probably remove or censor the part in Japan. I don't think it's a big loss, at least for me

Upon learning that MeTV's schedule goes up to two weeks after today, I've been on the look-out for any new restorations since. With that said, we might get Of Rice and Hen (1953) restored very soon.
Cheers,
Derek.
