Looney Tunes DVD and Video Guide

Warner Home Video: Cartoon Collections

DISCONTINUED

LOONEY TUNES PRESENTS

The most recent series of Warner Home Video-released Looney Tunes videos. The series was launched in 1998 with the release of two MARVIN THE MARTIAN videos in honor of Marvin's 50th birthday. In 1999, the series was "officially" launched with the release of two new Tweety videos. These videos featured ten cartoons each and packaged in clamshell cases. In October, 1999 the series was expanded with BUGS BUNNY: BIG TOP BUNNY, a rereleased MARVIN THE MARTIAN: SPACE TUNES (the two seperate 1998 releases compiled on a single video), and a rereleased THE LOONEY, LOONEY, LOONEY BUGS BUNNY MOVIE (see the Movies page for more information).

Thanks to the merger between Turner Entertainment and Time-Warner, this series, for the first time in history, was able to feature shorts from the pre-1948 Warner cartoon library on the same tape as post-48 cartoons. The first of which was "Haredevil Hare" on the 1998 release of MARVIN THE MARTIAN: SPACE TUNES.

Due to the fact that Warners plans to promote this series the "next generation" of Looney Tunes videos, nearly every previous Warner Home Video and every MGM/UA Home Video release was discontinued in 1999.
