Yes, as long as the shorts really are PD and not ones that were thought to be PD but are, in fact, still copyrighted (i.e. "An Itch in Time" and "Crowing Pains").

1) GREAT EXPECTATIONS I couldn't resist trying to embalm one of these "Jerry the Troublesome Tyke" cartoons.  Jerry is like a British dog version of Felix the Cat.  Go to the British Pathe channel and search them out!

2) A BARNYARD FROLIC  Back in January, I uploaded a video transfer of this title I had taken from a super 8 home movie version.  It was incomplete, as it was on a 50' segment of the cartoon.  I happened to find the BACK END of this one a couple days ago, so I welded them together to make a more complete (less incomplete?) version.  ENJOY!

I always thought the pre-code Boops had a special opening where the logo turns into the title card, but looking at 9.5 mm home movie prints, I am proven wrong. It's just a dissolve. The scarcity of the original Paramount titles by UM&M/NTA has caused the imagination to come up with special opening the Fleischer editors and cameramen never thought possible when these were orginally made.

8mm?????  It's can't be...the color looks fine.  Agree with the sound though.

Thanks! I downloaded the video and sped it up to the correct speed. Great to hear the original end music (most of it, anyway).

Not all 8mm prints are faded. It depends on the color process (some are more resistant to fade than others, Technicolor being the most resistant) and what conditions the film has been subjected to, just like with other gauges.
