TROPICAL FISH (Early Terrytoon)
« Reply #390 on: February 01, 2014, 01:04:34 pm »
Here's an early Terrytoon that is, typically, all over the map.  There are grotesque mutant fish, singing skeletons, and, finally, Farmer Al Falfa drinking some bad booze and hallucinating about mermaids.  (I created bogus title cards for this one.)

Start your day a little bit bit better with a fun episode of Fly Tales: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJt4Vg5BsKs
If you are unfamiliar with Fly Tales, then head on over here: http://www.intanibase.com/forum/index.php?topic=1744.msg15601;topicseen#msg15601

NOTE:The episode was episode 59,which is one of the rarer ones, because most of episodes 46-65 are unavalible on YouTube,or any other site for that matter.
Come and edit and contribute to the crazy wild story at the http://www.intanibase.com/forum/index.php?topic=1766.0 thread.Remember, the zanier the better!

Here's a 1929 "Screen Songs" from our friends at CN, Japan.  Pretty poor recording, but there you are.

Here's another early Terrytoon that examines the link between playing cards and morbid obesity.

KOKO'S KANE

Before there was the iPhone, there was KOKO'S KANE!  Another silent "Inkwell" cartoon with added title cards, music & sound effects.

RADIO GIRL (Terrytoon)
« Reply #396 on: February 24, 2014, 11:15:25 am »
I like this early Terrytoon, as it starts out as a satirical look at those new-flangled radio shows.  Of course, it inevitably descends to the boy-girl mouse rescue plotline, but still it's lots of fun.

Here's another "emblamed" Inkwell cartoon:

Max writes a screenplay and loses his head in the process and it's up to Ko-Ko and Fitz to find it for him.  (Added music, sfx & title cards.)

I always found it interesting how the Fleischers experminted many different techniques involving live-action and animation in these "Inkwell" cartoons.

Since it's Dr. Seuss's birthday, here are some Ford Service commercials he wrote and designed (animated by UPA).

Is it possible to hi-jack a train?  Koko and Fitz seem to think so.  Yet another embalmed "Inkwell" cartoon for your enjoyment.

Looks like there's a rat problem at the New Monia station house.  Embalmed silent cartoon with added music track.

KOKO THE CONVICT
« Reply #404 on: March 07, 2014, 01:05:21 pm »
Here's another embalmed Inkwell cartoon.  KOKO ends up in prison, nearly gets the chair, makes a break for it and NYC becomes overrun with cartoon prison guards.

Added title cards, music and sfx can't mask the fact that the cartoon opens "in progress."
