Not sure if this has been posted here before, so here's a print of the 1950 Noveltoon Tarts and Flowers, which is not only sourced from a Technicolor print, as it has better color than the U.M.&M. print circulating on most PD VHS and DVD releases, but it also has its original Paramount titles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESjMx0pQvHU

If this were to be remastered by Olive Films for Blu-ray and DVD, it would look beautiful, but I don't see them releasing a Noveltoons set anytime soon... though I can dream, can't I?

I mostly remember seeing this print of the cartoon more than the UM&M TV print. I actually still have it on one of my public domain VHS tapes. And I do have the UM&M TV print only on DVD.

In 1981, Disney released a clip-show featurette entitled Once Upon a Mouse. (I believe it played before The Fox and the Hound during its theatrical run.) I read about it and saw it listed in some filmographies, but I never seen it due to its unavailability on home video. (It would have made a good extra on one of the Walt Disney Treasures DVDs.)

I saw the featurette today because some kind soul uploaded it to YouTube recently. I've stated before I am not a fan of the act of uploading full copyrighted films online without permission of the rightful holder, but I usually make an exception for rare cartoons not easily obtainable on video.

It's different! It goes in a sub-random order! Not like any Disney documentary I've seen! The abscense of narration and have the clips tell the story, with themes rather than going in sequential order. Now if Disney PR today could learn that......

I was actually considering to post about this featurette on this thread as I was looking for this one for a long time.  I should point out that this was first released with "The Fox and Hound", hence the note about the twentieth animated feature.  Now why this has not been released on any of "The Fox and Hound" DVDs/Blu-Rays, I don't know.  Maybe it was because it used the song "Der Feuhrer's Face" doing the war section (this was the first time I heard this song back when I saw this featurette on "The Disney Channel" in 1998/9).
