The Boomerang Rebrand

Does anyone think the Boomerang Rebrand will add or change anything? We already have Gumball and Teen Titans GO! added to the lineup, even though I'm not a fan of those two shows, especially Gumball, and hopefully they're there on the line-up temporary.

I think Boomerang though will pretty much show the A classics..the B classics don't stand a chance though.  I think they want to bring international properties so maybe we'll get some interesting what I call Off the Grid entertainment.

Yeah... but the off the grid stuff there, is just on all the time here! (Chock Socky Chooks, Skatoony, Cramp Twins, Robot Boy ect...) I don't even think there's a place for that kind of Boomerang anyway. It just shows Cartoon Network Shows less than 5 years old and Cartoonito stuff.

To me off the grid stuff is B-F classics. I want to see something BAD!

Maybe you'd like the UK Boomerang to start airing "Dr. Snuggles" in all its trippy glory then. I actually wouldn't mind seeing that come over here; what with how all these psychedelic cartoons seem to be in fashion, the U.S. Boomerang could easily market it as the next Adventure Time.

Problem is, there's only 13 episodes; the first seven were animated at Topcraft, the remaining six at DePatie-Freleng (and you can tell just by the sound effects).

Depends on how well you can tolerate psychedelic European kiddie stuff. (I was responding to Takeshi55's desire to see something bad.) The voice acting by Peter Ustinov (as the doctor) is nice, though the character designs won't be everybody's cup of tea. And the music, while definitely ugly and synthesized, is in my opinion still better (for the most part, I should add) than the scores on Filmation's Tom and Jerrys.

For DFE enthusiasts like me, of course, it's notable for being DFE's only foreign production, though I heard their episodes were pretty much outsourced to Nelson Shin. (On those episodes, it can get tiring hearing the same twenty or so Hanna-Barbera SFX over and over again, with a still-substantial amount of recognisable Treg Brown and Jay Ward thrown in here and there.)

Most European shows here are more modern and just very... bland, with awful voice acting, a la Boyster.
I just want to see something no-one's seen in years, like the Cat cartoon weekends CN used to have.

It's almost close to the small amount of Hanna-Barbera SFX used in the W7/Bill Hendricks cartoons, but at least they don't use that annoying Hanna-Barbera/MGM fall sound I hate (thank goodness DPF sticked with the WB versions which are better).

There's still at least a better variety than in the W7 cartoons, though. Even by the late 70s, DFE could provide some real SFX surprises (one episode of Dr. Snuggles had the WB gizmo effect in the first few minutes).

I wouldn't think (or hope) so. Frankly, this new Inspector Gadget series looks miles better than Gadget Boy anyway. And remember this is part of Boomerang's rebrand; they purchased the series because it's a new version of a classic.

For the record, as I mention in my post, Inspector Gadget is still slated for Cartoon Network in the United States.
