Macy's "Yes Virginia" is rubbish compared to the Bill Melendez classic "Yes Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus"
The cons of the Macy's incarnation of the story
- Macy's iconography shoehorned into the story's timeframe (i.e. the "Believeometer")
- Characters are mean spirited to Virginia more so than the Bill Melendez classic
- Virginia rage quits her faith in Christmas in the 2nd half
- All it took was a drunk bum in santa suit to persuade Francis Church to write the response
- Virginia's parents serve little to plot compared to Bill Melendez classic
Basically, Macy's version tarnishes the story by trying too hard to be like a Hallmark/Lifetime movie
Do us a favor and stick to the Bill Melendez classic
