A mean spirited April Fools joke...
« on: April 01, 2014, 06:54:17 am »
In the 1940's, after World WAr II, a local theater manager advertises a big cartoon show that will feature Warner Brothers and Disney Technicolor cartoons.  On the day of the show, a huge crowd of children arrives at the theater, anticipating the grand program.  The show starts, and to their discouragement a handful of Columbia Screen Gems "Phantasies" and "Color Rhapsodies" are shown.  After ten of these cartoons are shown the theater manager comes out on stage and says 'April Fools'....   :crow:

The Theater ended up going out of business a few months later.

If that actually happened it would be one of the best stunts ever.
