I learned today that Echo Bridge has announced that they will release the Fleischer  'Color Classics' , licensing them from the original negatives. They've found that all the films were originally sponsored commercials, and these version will include the original advertising sections.

Some of the sponsors include:

Poor Cinderella- Sponsored originally by Ford
Song of the Birds- Daisy air rifles and the American Humane Association
Little Dutch Mill- American Dairy Association (this version has the villagers fixing up the old man with Dutch Milk, from Dutch Dairy Farms in New York)
Fresh Vegetable Mystery- The Grand Rapid Wholesale Grocery Company (aka Spartan Stores)
Play Safe- Sponsored by Lionel Trains
Somewhere in Dreamland- American National Candy Board. This version has closeup shots of the characters eating MARS bars
Christmas Comes but Once a Year- Sponsored by Christmas Seals
Greedy Humpty Dumpty- Sponsored by St. Luke Generosity Church
Hold It! - Sponsored by Bordan's Milk
Little Lamby- Sponsored by American's Wool Producers and Shavers
Hunky and Spunky- Sponsored by Good Neighbor Policy and Anti-animal slavery assoiciation
Also included on the set are the sponsored Popeye Cartoon 'Spinach Canning
Syndicate' and well as 'A Date to Eat', a rare cartoon featuring.......

Apparently Steve has a lot more time on his hands than we thought!  Must mean the "Complete Scrappy" set is almost finished!   ;)

Steve has revealed (can't find where it was at the moment, but no joking here, seriously) that one of his current projects is a licensed one that has been in progress for 3 years that involves using materials from private collections and archives from around the world, so one does wonder... ;)

Time on my hands???!? HA!!

Luke (Paramount Cartoons) and I did these this morning, in a rare break away from Technicolor Dreams and sending orders or teaching here at CCS!

(I wish that project was Scrappy....sigh!)
