Release More Looney Tunes on Warner Archive Petition
« on: March 13, 2014, 09:01:17 am »
Tonyboy85 has requested me to do a petition to Warner Archive to be incharge of releasing new-to-DVD Looney Tunes for us collectors. (since WB has no budget to remaster new-to-DVD and Blu Ray Looney Tunes). Sign here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/134/312/664/release-more-looney-tunes-on-warner-archive/

And he also requested me to do a petition for  :tom::jerry: Golden Collection Vol. 2, but I already did that petition since early this year. Sign here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/548/377/552/let-warner-bros-release-tom-jerry-golden-collection-vol-2-uncut/
I'm not just a fan of classic golden age animation, I'm also a fan of video games, anime, and modern animation (both 2D and CGI animation).

Thank you; I've been wanting to say that for the longest time.

Aren't you that guy who prefers to watch the Looney Tunes shorts on YouTube?

Perhaps with better marketing future sets may sell better. And regular syndication on cartoon channels.

I'll sign, probably wont work... But worth a shot.

Thanks for doing your best, but in this page,
http://www.intanibase.com/forum/index.php?topic=1798.30
what I meant to say is,

You should create a petition to tell the WB family division (& the WB corporate leaders) to let the Looney Tunes be released on blu-ray (& dvd) for collectors via Warner Archive, while WB still makes standard Looney Tunes dvds for casual families.

I already knew that
the Warner Archive has already released some films & tv programs on blu-ray.
http://www.wbshop.com/category/wbshop_brands/warner+archive/blu-ray+discs.do?nType=2

So please update this petition a little bit.

& I already knew your Tom & Jerry GC vol. 2 petition existed, I meant to say that you should keep your Tom & Jerry GC vol. 2 petition open.

I honestly wish you luck with all your many petitions, but realistically I agree with Nic and don't think they will work.

WB were doing great with collector releases up until the Golden Collections ended five years ago and it's been downhill since then. They've flooded the market with numerous double-dip collections and it seems that now WB cannot see any value in continually restoring old cartoons. It also seems that there are now people within WB who think certain cartoons should be locked up forever. This attitude is not going to result in the kind of releases collectors want to see and is even preventing BluRays that seemed ready to go (e.g Tom and Jerry Vol 2) from seeing a release. Reading between the lines, it seems that even trying to get WB to release a complete Tex Avery collection (a release for which there is world-wide demand) is an uphill struggle.

Well, what you don't know is that I'm planning to work in the animation industry in the far future, making animated TV shows, theatrical shorts and theatrical 2D films. While I'm at that, I'll suggest WB suggest WB about these when I work at WB Animation. And even suggest them about Kids WB having its own channel, so the classic stuff from WB Animation (like the Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Hanna-Barbera and more) will be separate and to make room for Boomerang's time slot and re-runs of both old school and modern CN shows.
I'm not just a fan of classic golden age animation, I'm also a fan of video games, anime, and modern animation (both 2D and CGI animation).

Warner Archive is honestly no help in getting classic cartoons out. If these were Bowery Boys films, they'd be all over it.

Jerry made it clear that the reason that Warner Archives can't do a Looney Tunes set is because the family division has the exclusive rights to them.

That is the real reason why I told ForumDocXV that he should create this petition
( http://www.thepetitionsite.com/134/312/664/release-more-looney-tunes-on-warner-archive/ )
in the first place!

& Thanks so much, ForumDocXV, for creating this petition!  ;D

So let's keep on signing it, people!
