This explains why the originals don't exist with reissue titles, due to that they had Cinemascope remakes.

Interestingly, I heard on one site that MGM was planning to do Cinemascope remakes of "Little Quacker" and "Tom and Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl" (both from 1950), but were scrapped due to the closure of the MGM cartoon studio in 1957. And if they were made, then most definitely, the original cartoons wouldn't of been reissued with re-release titles.

At least the original opening titles for Tom and Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl were already found thank god.

I think I may have seen it on TV. Some of the titles look different in the last 90s.

Then how come the current print uses the 1947-1951 red MGM Lion and Tom & Jerry titles? If a cartoon from 1946-1954 only exists with reissue titles, they would use the 1953-1958 blue MGM Lion and Tom & Jerry titles instead (and sometimes they have the Perspecta Sound logo in the credits for the reissues from the mid and late 50's).

Also of considerable interest is Cat Concerto‘s copyright synopsis, with the note of “Changes 3-29-47,” indicating that the typist had viewed a print prior to this particular synopsis. March 29th was sixteen days after Jack Benny presented the Oscar to Cat Concerto. So as soon as it was released, it was touted as an Oscar winner in the opening titles, unlike cartoons that had that proclamation inserted into the credits well after the fact (like Yankee Doodle Mouse, Quiet, Please!, and Johann Mouse (though most surviving prints retain the original release titles); The Little Orphan was also always emblazoned with the Oscar stamp in its original release).

So ForumDocXV is right in this case. Studio politics could affect even the opening title cards, it seems...

O_o I've never known the Cinemascope cartoons to be shown in any other format but Pan-and-scan! One thing I don't get, is since there are two version of the Cinemascope cartoons, as one is regular format, why do they always use the 1.37:1 ratio zoomed in?

The two versions system only lasted for the first few Cinemascope cartoons. What makes the issue of Boomerang (and Cartoon Network) and these cartoons so asinine is the fact that Pet Peeve, Touché, Pussy Cat!, and Southbound Duckling are all shown in pan-and-scan even though Academy-format versions exist, yet Pup on a Picnic and Dixieland Droopy are shown in their original formats.

And then you have what happened today, when, thanks to a programming error, Cat's Meow ended up being shown--in its original Cinemascope format! And given that, I have reason to believe that they used the transfer from "The Compleat Tex Avery" laserdisc...meaning that Cartoon Network and Boomerang are quite capable of televising restored prints of classic cartoons wherever available! (I do realize that some Golden Collection prints have aired before.)
