Mid Century Modern Cartoons, Volume 2- IAD advance disc...
« on: March 11, 2013, 12:59:39 am »
Thanks to everyone for supporting Thunderbean's efforts to produce these classic cartoon sets. There's great news on some new projects that I'll announce soon with some licensed properties, but I'll start with this one now that Gulliver-gate and Cats and Dogs and Sailors are done and sent.

Announcing 'Mid-Century Modern Cartoons, volume 2' sneak preview disc!

Featuring more great shorts from 1946 through the early 60's, including Commercials from UPA, Storyboard Inc, Great animated theatrical and education shorts, all transferred from original 35mm and 16mm materials. It includes 'The Brotherhood of Man' and the ultra-rare 23 minute 'Rhapsody of Steel' (just licensed from US Steel themselves!).

The 'Sneak Preview' disc includes a DVD and HD Mpegs (that work!) of a bunch of the films and commercials already transferred. Purchase of the sneak preview disc also includes the final DVD release sent once it's finished (projecting mid to late April). This one has been in progress since last May.

The sneak preview is only available for one week only, until Monday the 18th. It is $13, plus $2.50 postage inside the USA, $6 to other countries (postage went way up in January).

Here are some stills from 'Rhapsody of Steel' (35mm Technicolor) and various commercials:

Thanks again to everyone that has supported these efforts!

I'll see if I can track it down. I know a few collectors with large reels of commercials, and I have 7 such things myself, mostly from the late 60's into the early 70's...

Thanks Steve. You ARE the best. Sorry for getting a bit off tangent.
IF it helps...I recall the lyrics as such: "Oh..the rocker arm assembly assembly assembly...the rocker arm assembly it don't like dirt. Detergent Gasoline...helps keep your engine running smooth and clean....oh it's Mobile, yes it's Moblie Gasoline....(and repeat....something along those lines...).

Anything new on this? Either preview or actual disc? As it is now just hours away from July and was expected to be done in April or May? I know I paid...and haven't received either....
