"Brave" wins Best Animated Film Oscar
« on: February 24, 2013, 09:54:15 pm »
...no surprise to any animation fan that knows about Pixar's winning streak.

"Paperman" won the award for Best Animated Short, and the presenters of these awards were terrible, two actors/voice-artists I never heard of before. You'd think with Seth McFarlane hosting this year, he would liven things up, like those times animated characters presented the Oscar...

So overall, the Academy Awards were a total disappointment in terms of animation, except for "Paperman," being the first Disney short to win an Oscar since 1969's "It's Tough to Be a Bird."

Will you stop being so bitter about Pixar?  Besides. they didn't win last year.

I do admit that I'm alittle surprise that "Brave" won as I liked "Wreck-IT Ralph" more, but at least both directors got an award.

And I was hoping "Paperman" would win and it did.  This is symbolic since this the 80th year for the best animated short catagory and Disney won the first award (and the following seven).

I wasn't being bitter about Pixar... I was more bitter about the terrible presenting they did. What do Paul Rudd and Melissa McCarthy know about animation?
Plus, I've seen harsher criticism online about "Brave" winning and beating "Wreck-it Ralph"...

I am amazed. This only happened an hour and a half ago, and stuff like this is already coming up!  :o

"Wreck-it Ralph" and "Frankenweenie" deserved to win.

Honestly, I never saw "Brave", which I can't comment.

Saw them all...and thought it should be Frankenweenie 1st, ParaNorman 2nd....but then again, I think Warner Home Video should put all the Tom and Jerry's on their sets...so what do I know?
