« on: October 31, 2012, 06:25:50 pm »
Why was the video taken down and made private?

Perhaps. Honestly, I feel Youtube and the Internet Archive have ruined sales/income for a lot of material, especially orphan films that are being handled by smaller companies or individuals who don’t have deep pockets like the big corporations to save themselves from that loss of profit. We’ve become a culture that wants everything NOW, practically for free, and on our warm, loving computer screens.

Well, I live in the UK so it wouldn't be easy for me to buy it on DVD unless I have a Region 1 player. If I really was at all bothered, then I would purchase one but - since they're available on torrents - I can just download them there if I wanted to. I wouldn't pay the money for a Platinum Collection Volume 2. As a Scotsman like me - we're very tight with money.

Of course. The whole 'toon (with the restoration) is on Dailymotion.

See, it ain't just Google/YouTube.

+1.

Remember, guys, that Warner Bros. has restored this film and made it available for you to obtain on an official disc set; there's not even the slightest justification for it being illegally available online. If you aren't willing to spend the money to obtain the Platinum Collection, then you missing out on seeing the film is just.
