TTTP In Exile / Bootleg of a complete Tex Avery collection
« on: March 02, 2014, 11:03:51 pm »
https://www.robertsvideos.com/product.php3?invid=65832&ref=/browse.php3?All=&keywords=&NPAL=&MESECAM=&VHS=&DVD=&CDROM=&VHSEP=&VHSSP=&PAL=&SECAM=&MPAL=&alpha=&catid=134&page=3&incr=1

A whole complete MGM AND WB collection of Tex Avery cartoons. Is it too good to be true? No,because it's a bootleg.I wouldn't trust it,because the same site is selling a VHS with THESE cartoons:
Tokio Jokio
All This and Rabbit Stew
Daffy The Commando
Superman and The Japoteurs
Jasper and The Haunted House
Bosko's Party

Sure-those cartoons are PD,but what person with any care for what they are producing would produce a collection of all stereotypes,Japanese,African-American,and German, and on VHS?This website should not be trusted, because it won't even tell you what you're getting half the time.I looked around the site, and I would not trust it even if they have a complete tex avery collection. No matter how much I want that, this website should not be trusted(if they have a price that's cheap enough,MAYBE I'll consider having a notion of buying the other VHS).If you buy know matter who the seller is,then go for this. But the price is very high, almost 70 bucks! It's your choice if you want to buy a complete 7 DVD-R collection of Tex Avery's cartoons at MGM AND Warner, from an untrustworthy site that's obviously bootlegged and may have incredibly awful quality, but I would not buy that(note how they have no review section,to cover all possible evidence of untrustworthiness!).

(don't read the above paragraph, scince it's just me repeating over and over and over and over and over the same thing)

Heck, Disney managed to released just about all their sound theatrical cartoons on DVD.

Disney was one of the animation studios that had a large library. Unlike other golden-age animation studios with a large library of at least 200 cartoons, you can easily obtain each Disney short on DVD thanks to Walt Disney Treasures. Every single animated feature (save for Song of the South) was released on DVD.

Well, what I meant by that was the library of movies, shows, and cartoons they bought from other companies.

Which Heckle and Jeckle cartoon is on this besides their debut?

"Fishing by the Sea"

At least you can find it here on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M43tnovN33Q

That's not really what I want.I want the tape.I don't care a whole lot about the cartoon,I just want the tape for historical reasons. And I have never seen A Waif's Welcome for some reason,so that's a new cartoon.

If anybody wants the cartoon list:
-Daffy The Commando
-A Waif's Welcome
-Heckle and Jeckle in Fishing by the Sea

Warner:
1936-1962.The first 5 years felt like they were just finding their way.1963-1969 was okay, but nothing to rave about.

MGM:
1943-1959.Tex.Was.The.Best.

HB:
1959-1968 and then 1993-2003 shutdown. Can't really say a whole lot about the earliest era,I just like their shows from that era much better than the later stuff, because they ran out of creative writers and good ideas.Their 1993-2003 shutdown era was great, because they joined forces with young, fresh writers and cartoon network writers. All shows not from these eras were mediocre.Even Hanna and Barbera admitted that their shows sucked. Now that hurts.

Disney:
1928-1933 and 1941-1945.I never have cared very much for disney.I liked their very early era of silent B/W cartoons, but after that,I didn't care much for them, with an exception of the wartime cartoons, which made them get wackier, zanier, and crazier. After the war ended I lost intrest in disney altogether. To this day I think disney is the most ovverated company that produces anything of all time, and that's why I can't stand their cartoons. They are also very cutesy in the earlier era.Their new features are not very good.I know it might be a shocker for some GACers, but I don't give a ---- about disney cartoons. Also, their company that owns them is so annoying, being more copyright paranoid than ANY company ever, sitting on a library of great shows and never offering them to any company, and always abusing their library. Not very different from viacom, but disney is more annoying.Their is a long paragraph about why I don't care about disney.
