I had no idea that Race for Your Life and Bon Voyage had been released on DVD. I wonder how I missed that memo. Then again, I also didn't know that You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown was on DVD until I saw a copy in the store.

 And of course, all of these specials have been released on VHS in the past, under many different companies. And it was common for some companies to release multiple specials in one video. I recall seeing a VHS that had It's the Great Pumpkin, What a Nightmare, and It Was a Short Summer all in one release. There were some double-special releases where each side of the packaging was a cover for one of the two specials. And of course Paramount put out the "Snoopy Double Feature" releases.

 And speaking of the Paramount Home Video days, there were specials featured in "Snoopy's Double Feature" and specials included on their own, under the labels "A Peanuts Special" or "Peanuts Classics". Outside of the "Peanuts Classics" (most of which were the holiday specials), I wonder how it was decided which specials would have gotten their own releases without being paired with another special (well I guess it's obvious for the hour-long releases).

 And specials have also been released on laserdisc and Select-a-Vision (don't know off-hand about the lasediscs, but the select-a-vision releases have four specials each).

As I think only ca 500 did not make it to DVD.

It's also unusual how they kept doing the Daffy/Speedy team-up, after it did not go over well in the 1960s...

 And in the movie, once they start getting customers, it seems like Speedy's suddenly missing in action until after Yosimite Sam makes his wish.

 And I guess this is one of the few times when Speedy's had an unhappy ending, not just because the island goes back to how it was and the well runs out of wishes, but because his burrito gets stuck to his nose (and we never see it come off). Though I guess that's more an unhappy ending for him like the one in Road to Andalay where he lost his tail.

 I like this movie, but it seems odd how when characters make their wishes, they only see themselves getting what they wish for (is it supposed to be their futures?), as opposed to getting it right away. And when Yosimite Sam mentions that the map is his map, we are reminded that the one who truly owns the map is in control of the well, and then everything goes back to normal and the well only has three wishes left. Why? Did Sam say something I forget that made the wishing well inactive? Shouldn't Sam have been able to keep getting wishes?

 It would be great if this release would at least have some bonus Daffy and Speedy shorts, restored or not. I think Moby Duck would be an appropriate choice.

 I wonder if Warner Bros. should start a Kickstarter campaign for the budget to remaster more cartoons.

 If Disney really did buy every entertainment company as well as the government, they'd probably be able to pay off the national debt.

 I had debated over whether I wanted to do a volume 7 wishlist, since it likely won't happen, but then I figured, what the heck?

 Though I will list stuff from the Platinum Collections and shorts that were released as widescreen in the first two Super Stars releases (considering some might have avoided those releases because of the shorts being in widescreen, it might be good to list some of the non-widescreen shorts from those releases, but I won't do that here).

 With Life with Feathers and Tree for Two confirmed, I think this might include a selection of Sylvester cartoons without Tweety (including both Spike and Chester cartoons).

 I saw Get a Horse today, and I was not expecting a mix of CGI and old-style. I'd seen a one-minute clip of the beginning online, and expected the whole short to look and feel like a 1928 Mickey Mouse cartoon (I was even surprised to see Walt Disney's name in the credits as Mickey here). Did anybody know in advance what this would be like?
 

 I hope this gets nominated for Best Animated Short.
