TTTP In Exile / Re: Betty Boop to be released by Olive films?

Not buying this best of collection because I already have the French set.

Are those French Betty Boop DVDs any good? Any major drawbacks? I've been thinking about buying them for ages...

The French DVDS are made from the same masters as the American VHS sets so they have DVNR and the French Subs have to be constantly turned off after every cartoon.

Screw the double dip Platinum collection.  They should restart the Gold Collection.

Lol, at anybody that thought Warner Brothers would change their ways.  Warner Brothers burnt me with the spot light collection but they didn't get any of my my money for this new collection and they are not going to.  I remember when Warner Brother even told us straight up that the censorship on the spotlight collection volume 3 was intentional.

Steve I've sent you an email.

Could you check on my order too Steve as I only received a part of it.

I only received Live and animation and the feature film disc.  Steve I was wondering if the rest of my order was sent separately.  Please PM me.

For me I need a DVD player that converts pal to ntsc to be able to watch pal DVDs on my TV.  I only have old standard TV though.  Before I buy a DVD/Bluray player I always do my rearch on them to make sure they can be region hacked & can convert Pal to Ntsc perfectly before I buy them.

Maybe Disney will stick this short on one of their Diamond Blu-rays as an extra.  Kind of like they did with the Laugh o grams.

Why not include some of the non  :betty:  Talkatoons and Screen Songs and just release it as Betty Boop and Friends.  I wouldn't mine having the Inkwell imps also.  If they do release the Inkwell Imps please do it with a soundtrack.

Steve please check your PM box.

I know all the same old Chuck Jones beat-to-death classics have to be released with every single series for the casual Target shoppers who think those are the only Looney Tunes that exist, but I really don't see any reason why we should have to put up with the same ratio of double-dips on the planned volume 2.  Hopefully this and the earlier blu-ray release sell well enough to continue funding/encouraging NEW restorations.

However, there won't be as many "new to DVD" restored cartoons due to the economy problems.

I guess they won't be getting any money from because of economy problems.  This Looney tune Platnium debacle has left a real bad taste in my mouth with Looney Tunes and Warner Brothers.  With over 1,000 cartoons to choice from there was really no need for any double dips.

I thought Warner Brothers said they were restoring all the Looney Tunes for HD TV broadcast in the future regardless of DVD sales?  Warner Brothers is a very rich corporation they have the money to restore the cartoons.

This is stupid.  Couldn't they at least gotten rid of one of the double dipped shorts and put the Door on there instead.

I wouldn't buy these as it would only be rewarding WB for bad behavior.

I got the 1st French disc and I had no problems with it so I ordered the rest of them.  Yes, It is annoying having to turn the subs off whenever a new short starts and yes these are the old republic LD masters with DVNR ,but like I said earlier this set is probably the best we are going to get.  The French DVDS are region free so they will play on your PC right out of the box.  IF you live in NTSC land you will need a DVD player that can correctly convert Pal to NTSC to watch them on your TV.
