: Found Binko the Bear Cub in my attic!
: looneytooney April 01, 2012, 10:55:35 AM
Romer Grey's Binko the Bear Cub can finally see the light of day. The cartoon is called 'Arabian Nightmare' and apparently has animation by both Bob and Tom McKimson. I didn't want to see the print in fear of it being turned to dust the moment I open the can. Anybody know a collector that would be interested.

When opening a can to avoid turning the print into dust, wet your fingers and turn the top counter clockwise. When it's about halfway open, turn the can so it's tilted at a 90 degree angle. Look carefully for sparks on the metal as you open; if you go too fast you could ignite the film, so what you can do is have a bag of sand near you to douse the nitrate just in case. I'm glad to hear that Binko the cub survived beyond those stack of drawings!

Ya know Steve, THAT description sounds an AWFUL lot like Steve Martin's description of his revolutionary 'screw-top brain surgery' in "The Man With Two Brains" :coolcat:
