: WB announces new Daffy and Porky feature
: speedy fast April 01, 2013, 11:56:10 AM

It's been announced that a new Daffy Duck and Porky Pig feature film is set for release in 2015.

The film, which will be directed by Larry Doyle and written and produced by John Krisfaluci, will involve Daffy and Porky as they go on a road trip to make a documentary about America. However, a rival studio, led by the evil Danny the Dancing Fish, is out to stop them from filming their documentary.

This film will be similar to the classic Looney Tunes compilation movies, only they won't use classic cartoons. Instead, there'll be several barely-related 4-7-minute sequences reminiscent of the classic WB shorts. Such scenes will include Daffy and Porky going to a western town and battling Yosimite Sam and Nasty Canasta, Sylvester chasing Tweety at an animal shelter that Daffy and Porky report at, Daffy stumbling upon Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in the woods during hunting season, and Charlie Dog pestering Porky into adopting him while at the animal shelter.

Voices will include Joe Alasky, Bob Bergan, Tommy Wiseau, John K., and June Foray.

I can't wait for this one! Is it going to be in IMAX 3D?

This was going to be my April fools joke on the Golden Age Cartoon forums back in 2011. In fact I actually did post it. After midnight I got on the GAC forum and posted a news report thread like this (where the movie was going to have a title like "Daffy and Porky on the Road") and had it posted online within the first few minutes of April 1. Then I went to bed and after waking up, went to the forum to see the replies, only to see that they did the dancing fish again (in fact that's what's inspired a dancing fish to be the villain in this post). The year before the dancing fish stopped halfway through April fools day and fans could post again, and I had hoped the same would happen then and that I could see fan reactions before April 2 when all April fools threads would have been locked, but no, they had to do the dancing fish all day.

And then the next day I saw that my thread had been deleted. I actually did a google search for the title and the thread actually showed up, but when I clicked on the link nothing came up.  I'm glad to have finally done the joke to be seen by more people.
