Trivia
- Originally the film was going to be called "Master Mind", but when it was found out the name had already been trademarked by the makers of the 1970s board game and television show of the same name, it was then changed to "Oobermind" (a misspelling of the term "über-mind), but it didn't sound right, so it was finally changed to "Megamind".
- Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. were both approached to be the voice Megamind but turned it down due to scheduling conflicts.
- Metro Man is parody of Superman with his persona based on Elvis Presley and his face modeled after Presley with Bruce Campbell used as partial inspiration. In fact, Bruce Campbell was considered for the role of Metro Man but DreamWorks decided to cast an actor that had more star power.
- Megamind is a combined parody of Lex Luthor and Batman (the latter for the dark attire and lots of gadgets).
- Under 100,000 storyboards were created for the film.
