Synopsis
-
In this take on Hansel and Gretel, Oswald and his sister Fanny live in a house with their father, Welsh Rabbit, and their mean stepmother, Minnie Mug. All they have is a piece of bread, but Minnie sends the two children to bed so she can eat it herself. The next day, Minnie takes the two children out to the woods to abandon them. Oswald scatters a path of sunflower seeds to create a path back, but a family of birds eats them. They wander until they find a house made out of assorted sweets. Screwy Sarah, the witch, locks them up and plans to eat them. With the help of Fanny, Oswald escapes and kicks her out of the house. The children return home with the candy house in tow!
