Bloopers

  • In the shot where Schroeder announces all the Valentines have been handed out, Charlie Brown can be seen standing in the corner of the school room. In the next shot, he's standing right next to Schroeder.

Cut Scenes

  • For the ABC airing, 2 cuts have been made; the first is Linus' conversation with Violet while he's buying his Valentines present for Ms. Othmar (which contained Linus' advice to Violet to buy her teacher a bottle of heart-shaped shaving lotion) and the other is Sally reading her message on her candy heart which is the poem "How Do I Love Thee?" (Sonnet Number 43 from the Portuguese) by Elizabeth Barrett Browning with Snoopy acting out some of the lines.

Inside Jokes

  • The credits feature Snoopy holding a variety of hand puppets which are puppet carictures of resptected cast and crew members whenever their names appear on screen.
  • As Schroeder is handing out Valentines, some of the names of the students he calls out to are names of the crew members of the Peanuts specials. These names include Phil (named after director Phil Roman), Lee (named after executive producer Lee Mendelson), Joanne Lansing (named after the painting supervisor of the same name), Pat (either named after painter Patricia Capozzi or animator Patricia Joy), Linda (possibly named after Linda Ercoli who voices Violet and Frieda in this special), and Sam (named after animated Sam Jaimes).
