Synopsis
-
When Batman is blamed for the deaths of Gotham's most feared gangsters, the Dark Knight sets out to clear his name and face the Phantasm, a sinister figure with a link to his past. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne fights a more personal battle when he must choose between his love for a beautiful woman and his vow to be the defender of right.

Trivia
- The film was intended to be a direct-to-video film. But during production, Warner decided to release it theatrically and while the animators were excited about this, it left them with less than a year of production time and went over the (as originally intended) full screen scenes to accomodate the theatrical widescreen ratio. The studio cooperated well and granted the filmmakers a large amount of creative control.
