Trivia

  • Conceived (and modeled after) as an attempt to create an animated equivalent of the "Our Gang" (AKA "The Little Rascals") shorts by Hal Roach in hopes that the characters introduced (who were new at the time) would catch on. Only a number of cartoons with Porky Pig, Beans, Ham, and Ex were made before the concept was dropped. Although there was an effort to make Beans the newest star of Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies, that role eventually went to Porky Pig.
