Weirdly, the WAC announced it before Jerry Beck this time, but it's coming. No date has been announced, but it will be sometime next month.

Not really, because Jerry already announced that it was coming around June and WAC hasn't actually given any more detail than he has. Chances are he will probably give away the actual release date before them anyhow.

Nice cover.

Any word on whether Popeye and the Pirates has the undressing scene intact and did they find the original audio for Rodeo Romeo and The Fistic Mystic?

When this volume comes out, we'll finally find out if Safari So Good was indeed the first Popeye cartoon to have the "Color by Technicolor" credit, since Famous Studios started using that credit for their Technicolor cartoons in late 1947 with The Baby Sitter and Santa's Surprise, although The Golden State and We're in the Honey, both released in 1948, still had the "in Technicolor" credit.

From page 26 of the volume one thread, it appears my prediction of what will be on volume two was correct.

I applaud your enthusiasm, but I have to assume that a Volume 3 will depend on the Volume 2 sales figures. I hope Volume 2 gets the kind of support that Volume 1 got.

And don't misunderstand me, I'm not trying to be the downer around here. I think we all know that the success of each individual set will determine the existence of the next one, and the moment it looks like the enthusiasm for these starts to wane, that's the end. The folks who want these to continue will have to keep "voting with their checkbooks".

Weirdly, we don't know anything about the set other than its cover and contents. Jerry has kept mum about it.

No doubt discussion will pick up when we know more about it.

What else is there to know? Jerry estimated the release time months back on Stu's Show, and also said it would contain the next 15 cartoons in chronological order. The only new piece of info that WAC has given with this Facebook post is the cover art.

Or are you thinking about stuff like whether the missing scene from Popeye and the Pirates was on the nitrate negative or not?

Will this set be available at other online retailers like volume 1 was? Or just the Warner Archive?

It will obviously have the same availability as the first volume. All Warner Archive releases do.

While House Tricks? was the first Popeye cartoon to have the Famous Studios logo on its own card, that short used the Famous Studios logo that was seen on the early Little Lulu cartoons, as well as the Noveltoon Cheese Burglar; the more familiar Famous Studios logo, which first appeared on the Noveltoon The Friendly Ghost, would first appear on the next short, Service with a Guile.
