I've spent a little bit of time trying to actually find proof that it's a WHV release and not WAC. I can only find that the label is "WARNER BROS" on SDS, which currently suggests it to be, either really. If I'm right that this is likely the photoshopped restorations with fixed titles, then it's more likely to be a WAC release, given they are supposedly doing the work to fix that. If anyone here can actually provide evidence to which label is releasing it, I'd want to hear. Still, the 80th anniversary release was an exception, given that it was a bigger set, was apart of a bigger celebration to Bugs' 80th, and was delayed by about a month

So, as mentioned on Stu's, Collector's Choice is absolutely not releasing in May, and is just in the "pulling out elements" phase. Sounds like they will be fully redoing the HBO Max restorations, and it also sounds like the content isn't 100% finalized, with some approval for some shorts being considered. That said, my optimism is still high, considering that it does sound promising, as long as Jerry does have his way with what he wants the set to be. Sounds like it is WAC's next big set. There was talk about double dips, but honestly it did sound like that stuff would be redone in 4K or be corrected versions of the SD cartoons from V1 being re-remastered for HBO Max. I just hope it turns out the way they want it too and that some of the more crazed folks don't push hard on information about it until it actually is ready

Sounds promising.

Since no release date was announced, I wouldn´t be too surprised if this was released somewhere in the fall, If its supposed to tie in with WB100.

After listening to the show, it doesn't sound like "Collector's Choice" is supposed to tie-in with the Warner's centennial, at least not intentionally. Also, I hope whoever at Warners that accidently leaked the info has been talked to.

I'm guessing the talk on Stu's Show was because NDAs were still in place, because George and Jerry did talk about the set on The Extras Podcast at 23:37 . One disc, twenty cartoons, menu is built, actually a May 30th release (guessing it really did get locked in). Two cartoons are directly mentioned being on the set, another is easy to figure out. I won't spoil which two are directly mentioned, but they are not ones that were restored for HBO Max, which I'm happy to hear. Really excited for the set

I liked what I heard. They had me with the three shorts they mentioned, one in particular has been on a lot of people's wish lists for a long time. (Glass cutters, anyone?) It sounds like the 20 shorts are really from the "sweet spot" of the library, with only material from the 40's and 50's. They mentioned that a nice mix of characters will be represented throughout, and this sounds like what a lot of people would have wanted a set like this to be. I'm genuinely enthused for this now, I hope it's the beginning of a successful new series.

Folks have been saying for years that they wished WAC would handle the Looney Tunes, here ya go.

The release is what I thought it was: a single-disc WAC release with 20 new-to-bluray shorts. Very good news!

And.... BEANSTALK BUNNY!!

Still, not the best approach for LT IMO, and that's a complain that I do since the Golden Collection. Best-of compilations aren't comprehensive. They still won't simply put out "Foghorn Leghorn vol. 1" and "Foghorn Leghorn vol. 2" disc and be done with it. That would be the best format. The most comprehensive LT collection is a certain yearly Jack Sparrow release.
I always come to TTTP in Exile in the hope of finding news about Warner announcing Tex Avery Collection.

I agree it isn’t quite the best approach, but I am excited. It is VERY GOOD that WAC is doing the sets, at least

Okay, for once I actually feel I can start to let myself get a little bit excited about an upcoming animation release from Warners. This looks like they've done their homework, and let those who know this stuff best do their thing. If this is what gets the ball rolling towards restorations that improve on what's come before, and maybe even set up for more comprehensive collections in the future, then I'm all for it.

P.S. This is by no means a deal-breaker but I wonder if maybe, just maybe, there's a chance some of these shorts will be 'de-Blue Ribboned'?

DAFFY DOODLES could be, I’ve been told there is a print with the titles but cannot confirm this

Great news. Just wish I have a Blu-Ray player.

What's stoppin' you? Their less than 100 dollars, heck, 50 dollars. Do you not have an HD TV?

Yes, I do. Three in the house, in fact. Just don't see the whole hype of a Blu-Ray player. Plus, I spent most of the freetime on this computer which has a built-in DVD player, but regrettably is not capable on playing Blu-Rays.

What "hype"? It's not that elaborate, Blu-rays contain more space and allows video to be displaced at a higher resolution. Since most releases you are interested in by this point are made for Blu-ray, it would be worth it, especially since if home video isn't as lucrative as it once was, we may as well see it the best we can

In my opinion, if you're invested in collecting animation, then investing in a Blu-Ray player is a good idea. The quality is a huge leap up compared to what you get from DVDs. If you primarily watch movies on your computer, there's some affordable USB Blu-Ray drives you can purchase.

And Nic, while this is a bit off topic, if you do want recommendations for a player or drive to get that are affordable with good quality, I'd be willing to DM you some

Thanks. I'll look into it. I'll check at my local computer store.

Looks like they were finally able to locate a good 35mm print of "Beanstalk Bunny!" I remember hearing somewhere the original negative was damaged in some way.
