That project will get everything scanned to 4K (that's in 35mm), but will they restore it? Probably, but then after that, will we all of them restored? Time will tell...

Interesting note from yesterday's Sunday Night airing of Ain't that Ducky. Unlike the last airing a few months back, it aired uncensored. This is not the interesting part, the real interesting is that before it they put up this disclaimer, the usual thing ahead of the DVDs. Interesting to see this on broadcast

That I actually heard on a YouTube community post yesterday! Sorry that I kept silent about it on this forum.

Anyways, if this is how they will continue with their airings from now on, who knows what we will get later on down the MeTV lineup? The Mammy Two Shoes T&J shorts? The overdue (yet already completed) restoration of "Fresh Hare"? All with disclaimers? Who knows?

But, the ONLY con about this is, that if they want to continue this way, then they will have to go back and air the cartoons they ran edited, unedited for their reruns if they want to add disclaimers from now (e.g. "Bad Luck Blackie", "The Car of Tomorrow", and those Popeye, Tom and Jerry, and Looney Tunes shorts; also, I am NOT obsessed with racial imagery, I am pointing out what may or may not be the future of MeTV airing these cartoons). However, only time will tell now, that if this is only exclusive to MeTV+, then we might only get to see unedited cartoons on there and not the main MeTV channel, but who knows (TBH, this is kind of ironic in my opinion, since MeTV+ already ran edited versions of "Believe It or Else", "Porky's Prize Pony", and "Doggone Cats", all three of which will now have to be rerun on the channel with a disclaimer now, making the edits now pointless in my opinion).

Anyways, this is just my opinion! You all can comment on what you think about this new feature (if I should say that)!

We shouldn't be speculating about things that haven't happened yet publicly, let's just wait & see. I posted it here purely because it was of note to document

This forum is very interesting and full of good info, but also very strange.

That really feels like them testing the waters to see if they can air more uncensored material without undue bad press/controversy/complaints.

100% agree. Just a toe in the water.

Some rather good news! "Peck Up Your Troubles" has been replaced with "Hawaiian Aye Aye" (no hate to the former; I love BOTH cartoons!)!

Hopefully, they can be able to pull a "Henhouse Henery" with that cartoon later on! Though, a little doubt on that, maybe.

By the way, a thing to note; the cartoons, "The Little Mole", "Tortoise Wins by a Hare" (don't like the Cecil Turtle shorts, disgusting), and "Blackboard Jumble", cartoons that have very minor problematic material, are going to be rerun on MeTV. If anything, someone please make a report if they have added disclaimers onto those cartoons as well, or if they just edited them like back in last year. Don't know about "Droopy's Good Deed", though; that one was WAY too blatant...

Also, I hope that now that it's been seven days past New Year's, that MTGM can make a report on the recent things that happened in October to now; tomorrow seems like a perfect chance to me, and a perfect opportunity as well!

If you don't mind, where did you hear of this information?

Thanks

ToonFan@1, schedule information can be found on MeTV's website . This page  is probably what Roxen Trail was referring to.

The MeTV site works for Saturday. I was more wondering about knowing The Little Mole & Blackboard Jumble were coming up. They are not listed for any upcoming Saturday thru 1/22. I haven't seen any type of actual "schedule" for the M-F show.

Just a little report today:

"The Little Mole" (containing a blackface doll or something?) aired without a disclaimer, meaning it was edited again, thanks to my friend keeping on hook with the SMC block.

This means that the disclaimer thing can either be debunked by being a one-time thing, or MeTV+ exclusive only.

I think it's too soon to say whether it's one or the other.

Yes, I would agree it's too early to speculate on any of them. And besides, I thought we were putting down the speculation like this

A forum where a person's opinion is discouraged...

If I said, "I wonder if more purple will be shown on MeTV this next month". Would I be told not to speculate, it's too early?

Strange.

If I said "I think we need to wait until we jump to conclusions regarding how MeTV handles the cartoons," would I be told that I am discouraging people's opinions?

Strange.

If you said, "I think you are jumping to conclusions regarding how MeTV handles cartoons", that would be just fine.

Telling him/her they need to wait to comment on THEIR opinion is absolutely discouraging. Especially, as the admin.

I'm not making any comment on whether cartoons should or shouldn't be edited. I'm saying it shouldn't be "put down" to bring up that issue

in a MeTV Cartoon forum. I've never seen anything like this before. That's why it is strange to me.

Alright, the kid gloves are coming off.

All that people have been doing lately is doing exactly what you think is okay, namely stating opinions on the speculation and whether or not it's warranted given the current circumstances. We have not gone as far as to actually shut the whole discussion down, or whatever you think suppressing opinions are.

At this point, it just comes off like you're much more interested in lecturing the mods and other participants on what YOU think they have the right to do, and to be free from whatever "discouraging" or self-policing any of us do around here.

Please take 30 days to learn how to stop moaning about opinions allegedly being put down on this "MeTV forum".

Thank you Toadette and Popcorn, the various people showing up recently and doing this speculation nonsense on a public forum that is most definitely being paid attention. It's immature and definitely NOT something to be talked about openly like that. I was on the verge of screaming myself out here listening to his near deaf talk on "opinions" despite already being explained what was he saying wasn't quite what he was thinking. Again, THANK YOU!

Yeah… I am putting all of the blame on myself. Everybody can blame me, I will accept that blame.

I am not going to talk about this anymore. I am 17 years old and recently tested positive for COVID; I get hyped up or really excited about things very easily.

I regret everything and apologize humbly. 😔

I will just go back to reporting on the MeTV+ exclusive Sunday Night Cartoons block. Peace.

Roxen.
