Yeah me too. The DVD and Blu-Ray releases never bothered to release many earlier Foghorns either. Is he really unpopular or something?

Thanks for telling the forums - I forgot to. It turns out that the photos for the last batch were put out (on that website I've linked in previous posts) 12 days before they were put out, which means that photos for newly restored cartoons could come out any second now!

Additionally, 3 more Bugs Bunny cartoons are being restored! According to Jerry Beck over email, WB is working on restoring [at least] 3 of the more famous, yet unrestored Bugs cartoons. They are:
-Beanstalk Bunny
-The Unruly Hare
-A Lad in his Lamp

Despite 2020 being a horrible year, classic animation releases this year are one of the few things that have made me really happy and excited. Tex Avery announced in January, released in February, and 77 new Looney Tunes restorations so far (if you count the ones removed from batch 3, the number would increase to 90). More on the way. Nice!

I hope they put back all or at least some of the shorts removed from batch 3. Despite the restoration flaws pointed out by Thad Komorowski, watching new restored LT is always good, even more so during a pandemic.

Foghorn is by far the most neglected major LT character. No Golden Collection disc was devoted to him and his Super Stars disc was messed up due to the post-1953 policy. As a result, 13 out of 28 shorts remain unrestored despite being the bulk of the series: earlier entries, more inspired and more fundamental to the character. "Henhouse Henery", for example, is the first short where Foghorn hums "Camptown Races".

Excellent, thanks for sharing! Unruly Hare is one of my favorite Bugs shorts.

While this is good news, were you supposed to mention this? Usually, Jerry wants to keep the news a secret for certain reasons.

The later Sylvester and Tweety shorts also have it pretty bad. It's really inexplicable that Hyde and Go Tweet hasn't been restored yet (unless that's another short with negative damage).

At least the Foghorn disc gave you the choice of Academy or widescreen ratio. The first two Super-stars sets didn't have that option for the post-53 shorts.

If anything, as Leviathan said, Sylvester & Tweety has had it worse. Remember when WB released a set full of repeats instead of new-to-DVD shorts?

Just to clarify: Are those three going to be part of the next batch on 11/4, or further down the line?

Hard to say, although like Jerry said, a lot of the newly restored cartoons will NEVER show up on MAX, though he is fighting for a home video release of these cartoons.

These would have been perfect for the 80th anniversary Blu-ray, too.

Sadly, not yet. However, WHV promised up a digital release of the Bugs 80th Blu-Ray today, but only 6 of the 60 cartoons appear on Amazon.

As a certain someone said on Facebook in his blunt sarcastic way (never seems to want to let that go and I recall he not liking this cartoon at one point), "Naughty Neighbors" has a better print on the service with no mix-match title music.

Something VERY important to note; Fresh Fish and The Rattled Rooster have their ORIGINAL TITLES RESTORED while Two's a Crowd and Sleepy Time Possum both have their original rings restored!!!!

The print of "Porky the Giant Killer" is also a massive improvement over the version on PP101. Contrast levels are higher (more pronounced whites) and the original opening title music is back.

So does When I Yoo Hoo, a cartoon that they gave a very odd sounding soundtrack....

Wow, that's a big update! I know what I'll be doing the next few days...

Watching Quackodile Tears now. One discrepancy I noticed: The short originally faded out and back in for the title card. This version just smash cuts from the shield logo to the title card. Restoration looks good, though.

"A Waggily Tale" is great picture-wise, but there's one amusing flub: after the opening titles, the "That's All Folks!" end title appears before cutting to the cartoon proper. As a result, the cartoon doesn't end with any end card; it just ends.

Also, this amusing "Rabbit's Kin" flub: https://twitter.com/allnewzbadnewz/status/1324050387926716418

Checking them out. Frankensteined titles notwithstanding, they look great.

Some of the B/W shorts look a bit rougher than others, and some have complete openings while others have truncated ones. Can this be explained?
