Something I've been wondering for a while now: how exactly do we know that Tom's iconic screams were provided by Bill Hanna? Seen this claim all over the internet and I'm not sure how we know this for true.

That's a question I've always had. It's one of those things that everyone accepts as fact, but no one knows the source.

This has been documented in tons of more official sources than "the internet". See Leonard Maltin's book "Of Mice and Magic ", just to name one example. It's mentioned in documentaries, like for instance in the DVD doc "How Bill and Joe met Tom and Jerry " (see 14:20).

Never thought I'd see the day when someone thought this was just an urban myth. Usually, the problem with misinformation is the other way around.
