Alpine Antics from 1936, since for some reason this is included on the DVD.

Will this only be available to purchase on the WB site or is it just the factory pressings?

When I first heard this news, I looked at a Porky Pig filmography page to see if it would be all of the black and white shorts, and I counted 103. I can't remember if I counted the few color cartoons from 1942 or not, there might have been a cameo that wouldn't be counted (I feel I've seen a color Merrie Melody which had Porky in the background, one that would have been from around the time of I Haven't Got a Hat).

Well, this is just phenomenally good news. Highly unexpected and very welcome indeed. Many thanks and congratulations to all involved in somehow pulling this off against all the odds!

It seems that DVD-R versions will be available to buy in all the usual places. If you want the factory-pressed discs, though, you must order from here:

http://www.wbshop.com/pr...+%28mod%29+1000645629.do

Which brings me to a question of my own: Any ideas as to how we fans outside of North America can get our hands on the pressed version? Warner's site only ships to the US and Canada...

So there will be a regular MOD version on Amazon which should be of the same quality just on a slightly inferior disc.

I hope that foreign markets will have the Porky set available.

(Side Note: My birthday is gonna be so awesome because it's the same day the Porky set comes out [porky] )

That's all I can find.

I contacted a customer service rep this morning and they'll look into that.

"Restored" means something else. These are new TRANSFERS, which is fine as long as the source material is in good shape (and there's no reason to think it isn't).

But why didn't they transfer from the original negatives? Is it cheaper to use the interpositives?

It is cheaper because scratches and dirt on interpositives appear as black so they're easier to be digitally removed.

I knew this would be the case. But I still think the restorations (from the screenshots I've seen from the announcement) will look great.

Interpositives usually look darker in general. I have a feeling this is what they've been doing for years.

By the way, regarding the audio commentaries, Jerry confirmed that all commentaries are recycled from the "Golden" and "Platinum" sets. There are no new ones.

This is about the DVD's "factory-pressed DVD type" & "DVD-R type" subject.

great news, I really need this set - but the big question is will they be uncensored or TV cuts?

According to Warner Archive's Facebook , the cartoons will be uncut.

I thought so, even if the new-to-DVD titles are being remastered from the interpositives, it doesn't mean they will be TV prints since WB owns the original theatrical prints to all the B&W Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies.

The official announcement says "....101-cartoon (plus some bonuses) collection...."
Is there a possibility that the set will include the Daffy Duck solo b/w shorts (like "the Daffy Duckaroo" or "The Impatient Patient")? Just curious.....

I hope so, since they need to at least include the remaining non-Porky Pig B&W Looney Tunes as bonus cartoons as well (either remastered or not no matter what, although 7 have already been remastered):
