Many animated shorts have rather generic titles. Many are pun-based, but could easily be used for any short featuring the starring characters. For example, The Wacky Wabbit could have easily been the title of A Wild Hare, or Rabbit Rampage could have been the title of Rebel Rabbit, or the many Road Runner cartoon titles could have been switched without any consequence or confusion.

But then there are also shorts that do have to do with the plot of the short. This thread is where we list those shorts.

Warner Bros.
*Pretty much all of the early Merrie Melodies titles are the names of songs which are heavily featured in the shorts themselves.
*Bosko's Picture Show has Bosko running a movie theater.
*Porky's Prevue - like the above, it has Porky running a show.
*Porky's Hare Hunt and Porky's Duck Hunt both involve Porky hunting those respective animals. However, there are other cartoons where Porky hunts Daffy Duck that could have been titled Porky's Duck Hunt, like My Favorite Duck and Daffy Duck Hunt.
*Each cartoon in the "hunters trilogy" do have to do with the cartoon, though they are also interchangeable as well.
*Birds Anonymous - that's the title of the group Sylvester joins.
*Daffy Rents - it's the name of Daffy's service.
*Daffy's Diner - Daffy runs a diner.
*Solid Tin Coyote - Wile E. Coyote builds one.
*Operation: Rabbit - what Wile E. Coyote calls his plans to catch Bugs.
*What's Opera, Doc? - it's an opera cartoon with Bugs Bunny.

Disney
*Plane Crazy - Mickey Mouse flies a plane.
*The Band Concert - Mickey runs a concert.
*Donald Applecore - there's apples involved (and there's the "applecore" gag).
*Sleepytime Donald - Donald sleepwalks.
*Derr Fuehers Face - it's the title song.
