While the name Patty Duke, who started as a stage and Oscar winning Helen Keller in 1962 brings to mind everything BUT animated productions, Rankin/Bass when they were still Videocraft, in their early theatrical movie (and when Patty was still doing those as well, such as "Billie"* an d "Valley of the dolls') Patty Duke did supply Thumbelina's voice for the Hans Christian Anderson based 1966 musical comedy "The Daydreamer", which had her "Patty Duke Sow" costar Paul O'Keefe as young Hans as the lead character! (Ray Bolger, Ed Wynn, Burl Ives, and others were in this sort of cult fave.) It's the film best known for Duke's scene where a mole (longtime actor Sessue Hayakawa) and his b at buddies sing the favorite "Isn't it Cozy"(Boris Karloff was also in that portion,as the Rat).
Duke's many live rols besides Helen and Patty/Cathy from her own show most motably include the 1970 "Valley of the Dolls" and "Charley".
Died of some kind of bone rupture, Internet Movie Database's Patty Duke messageboard noted
later became activist/advocate for bipolar condition.
*Billie,1966, released by US/Chrislaw, her TV show producers, costarred fellow Rankin/Bass legend, the already a legend Billy DeWolfe (the deliciously evil Prof.Hinkle the magician from Frosty who was always Messy Messy Messy or Busy Busy Busy)....
