The original title sequence for this cartoon was apparently online a few years ago but I've never been able to find it. Does anyone here have it/know where it is?

I did see it on YouTube before it was deleted.

Same happened to the original titles of Daffy Dilly.

Does anyone know at least who uploaded them?

The uploader of both of those was none other than Thad Komorowski.

In the case of "Daffy Dilly", along with Frank Tashlin's "Tale of Two Mice", and Friz Freleng's "I Taw A Putty Tat", the original titles were an added bonus with an animator breakdown video.

Did anyone manage to at least download any of them before they bit the dust? I used to have "I Taw A Putty Tat" and I think "Daffy Dilly" on my old computer but they're gone now. 😞

Or rather ask Thad K. He didn't reply to my PM though.

Don't know how, he doesn't seem to be active on here anymore.

I sent him an email a few days ago and he never replied, I'm assuming he ignored it. I'm gonna keep searching for this thing though, I know it's out there. [droopy] [wolfie]

Thad's sort of a private person and I think he has reasons to not reupload his videos.

Yeah I've noticed and never really understood that. It's quite a shame too, he has a lot of VERY cool stuff. Oh well, to each their own I guess.

Don't know he didn't use to be such private person in past, Easy to contact an easy to deal with (I bought some stuff form him in the past), now maybe he ran into some problems with someone or something. Which made him change his tune. But i'm not here to speculate.

I was always under the impression that Thad's upload of this title sequence to his blog had ceased to exist long ago. Turns out that the WordPress video embed code in the blog post was simply broken (the parameter for the player width having become obsolete at some point) and the video has remained online all this time. Below are the MP4 download links for this video and the good quality copy of the original titles to Tom and Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl from the same post.

Thanks for reupload. Maybe soon I'll upload whole cartoon ("Tom and Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl") with original titles (but with restored print).

The original print also had something different in the wanted poster at the opening of the cartoon:

Exactly, the "Or One C Book" was of course removed from the reissue print. And since it was made in the early and mid 40's, the original titles didn't have Fred Quimby's name credited (since it wasn't until 1946 or 1947 when his name was added to the opening credits) unlike the reissue print from the 50's.

I actually have the full cartoon with the original opening from a "fundraiser" disc I bought from Thad a while back. Send me a PM if you are interested....

In the "Share" menu of a functional WordPress video (such as the Toby cartoon on Thad's blog I linked in the "YouTube Thread") is a "Copy HTML" button, which copies HTML code to the clipboard for embedding the video in a web page. I inserted a couple instances of that code in an HTML page on my computer, replacing the ID for the video in each with the ones for the two title sequences. Result: Eureka! - the videos still exist - and from the resulting embedded players on said page I retrieved the direct links to the MP4s.
