He's been trying to get a "photo essay" for the Cubby Bear project out on a Thunderbean Thursday article on Cartoon Research for awhile if I can recall from a few weeks ago....

Ok! update on Cubby:

I didn't get a chance to work myself on the project this week, although quite a few other people have been working on cleanup. Right now
we're at 14 films either cleaned up or in progress, leaving 3 films to start. I'll be borrowing and transferring 2 of those this next week if all goes well, and the 3rd is a debate. That me os Gay Gaucho. There are 2 transfers done that are both ok for the most part, and I have a soundtrack from a 35mm I transferred many years back. One print is complete and clean but not as good visually; the other has some spices, wear and a focus issue. I may end up doing that one over as well if I can get a print fast enough. I want the title off to replication early this next month since it's already running a little behind.
I really like the set and am happy overall with the quality right now- much better than I thought we'd have for some of the titles.

How's that?

Take your time on those cleanups, Steve! As usual, I highly commend your efforts in getting the best-looking material out there, particularly for an "orphaned" cartoon series like Cubby.

That's fine, Steve, thanks. Somehow I was under the impression that this release was much farther along.

We do have a transfer on everything already- it's an issue of a few more upgrades. Cubby has actually been in process for 3 years off and on...and has been at the forefront for the last 4 months or so..
