Yup, it turns out Warner Bros. Animation seems to still like pairing up Daffy Duck with Speedy Gonzales! Maybe it had to do with "The Looney Tunes Show" or something.
I found out today that Warner is making another new Looney Tunes direct-to-video movie at long last, but it doesn't sound promising. It's called "Speedy and the Loco Duck," and brings back the pair-up yet again. There doesn't seem to be a definite plot yet, from what I heard.
It's going to mostly be written by the same Groundlings writers that worked on "The Looney Tunes Show," and the credited director is Tim Maltby. A couple production screencaps were posted, and the animation looks like it'll be done with them in the "regular" style (sort of like their 1990s and early 2000s appearances). It's said that the overseas animation will be done by DongWoo A&E (same Korean studio that worked on "Baby Looney Tunes" and "Loonatics Unleashed," along with a number of other post-2002 Warner shows.) Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone will have no part in it, as it's said Brandt is "sick of Looney Tunes." Andy Sturmer will be doing music, and Jeff Bergman will be voicing Daffy, while Speedy will be voiced by Fred Armisen again, but they're going to speed up his voice to make it sound closer to the original.
