So- until now, secretly we've been putting together a set of Christmas stuff, both live action and animation. There hasn't been enough time to clean them all up and replicate the set, but everything is transferred, at least for the first edition. The debate is whether to offer it as a BDR/DVDR combo, unrestored, next week. We'd sell only 100 or so all together, and have them in hand before the offer starts. Thoughts?

I'm in, as always. Some Christmas screen-shots look familiar (in pretty good shape, too, for not being restored), but a few are not familiar (to me, anyway) at all. That's actually exciting. I like the disc combos, but I'll take them any way you'll do them. Also, it sounds like if we order it when it's available, we'll be able to enjoy it this Christmas season. Neat-o! -Craig

I'm in, even though I have no idea if it will get to Norway before Christmas.

The IB feature took only a week to reach me, but the Thunderbean Thursday disc that was shipped a week earlier (i believe?) has not arrived yet.

It seems like all of the Famous Studios cartoons have their original titles. Is the Paramount mountain and series card missing from the print of "Santa's Surprise"?

Of course I'd be interested too in this!!

But I don't understand what is the alternative.
I mean, if you didn't offer them unrestored in BDR/DVDR combos as special discs what would you do?
Restore them and release them officialy as pressed discs?

The thought was to maybe wait for next year- but here's the thing: my friends working on the set with me are 76 and 78 years old.. they're in good health, but I do want to make sure they see the set, especially after putting a bunch of work into it. I'm getting votes to go for it, and I might on Wednesday- really depends if I can get the last transfers done and actually finish the disc by then!

I'd be interested to know if the prints of Santa's Surprise, Hector's Hectic Life, and Toys Will Be Toys have their original titles, as well.

How about you do both? :)

I will buy it unrestored this year, and you continue to work on them and offer them as pressed discs next season. Everybody wins!

Will international orders be made available for the 'special' version of this set? I don't mind if it doesn't get to me in time for Christmas, I think it would be cool to have an "unrestored" sneak preview version before the final pressed set next year.

It's been a debate- I wanted to make sure they got there for holidays, and wasn't sure if they would. If you'd like to order DBEAR, you can... postage is $6 though...shhh! Member here in other countries, feel free to order if you'd like as well...
