I was pleasantly surprised by just how widely available the Gumby 1950's DVD set is in stores like Walmart, Target and Best Buy. This day and age, you never know if these big box retailers will stock these releases.

A few days ago, I was on Amazon and came across two listings for new Gumby DVD's from NCircle Entertainment. One of them is just a single disc titled "Gumby's Arctic Antics". It has been available since 11/3, but so far, it looks like Amazon is the only place that has it. I have not seen this one in any of the big box retailers yet.

The more pleasant surprise was that there is a listing for "The Gumby Show: 1960's Series, Vol. 1", and it is supposed to be released on 2/23/2016.

There are listings for both of these DVD's on Best Buy's website as well. Based on that, it looks like the "Arctic Antics" DVD is something Best Buy won't carry in any of their stores. However, Best Buy's listing for "1960's Series, Vol. 1" does say it comes with a bendable figure. I am hoping that the figure will truly be a 1960's Gumby with black eyes instead of red eyes, much like the figure we got with the 1950's set was truly modeled after a 1950's Gumby

As for what episodes are included on the Arctic Antics DVD, it took a while to search Google, but I did end up finding a listing on a library website that lists the contents. The following episodes are included on this DVD:

Northland Follies
Santa Witch
Scrooge Loose
Pigeon in a Plumb Tree
Pilgrims on the Rocks
Gumby Crosses the Delaware
Son of Liberty
The Moon Boggles
Toy Crazy
Little Lost Denali
Arctic Antics
Humbug

I noticed that "Pokey's Price" is not included on this DVD, even though the other 3 from 1966 ("Pilgrims", "Delaware", "Son of Liberty") are included. You would kind of figure this episode would be included if they included the other episode with a Thanksgiving theme. I think I may know the reason why it wasn't included, but I also really hope that censorship of politicallly incorrect content does not become an issue when releasing the chronological series sets.

The listing on Amazon for the 1960's set was removed for a while, but it is now back with some additional information about the set.

There are going to be a total of 40 episodes on this set. Assuming that they are going in the order they are listed on the Gumby website, this set would cover the episodes from "The Zoops" through "The Gumby League".

As for bonus features, this set is going to include the following:
  • The original Gumby pilot that aired on NBC
  • "Space Ball", the short that introduced Professor Kapp
  • a tour of the 1964 Clokey Productions studio
  • a special behind the scenes photo gallery

Amazon only has one listing on their site, but Best Buy still shows 2 separate listings with one of them being a set that includes a 1960's Gumby figure.

Having problem quoting, but this if for HeySteve's first message:
Those last several are NOT 60s but (in my opinion the vastly inferioir) 80s episodes.

To clear up any confusion, the first post was regarding two completely separate DVD releases. One was a Christmas themed DVD that has been out since November. The other is the 1960's set that is due out in February. The listing of episodes in the first post is what is on the Christmas DVD.
