Nice to see that both Mickey and Donald are going to be on the list, but what about the Goof?

Also, where's the rest of the Looney Tunes? You can't have a list without the remaining Looney Tunes character besides [bugs] .

I caught a re-run of this some days ago. I don't pretend to like most of the more modern material that was included mingled with classic animation, but I'm not going to gripe about it here. I caught the segments about Mickey and Bugs near the end. Both characters were represented almost exclusively by their ugly off-model modern reinterpretations (The Looney Tunes Show and whatever those ugly new Mickey Mouse shorts are referred to as). The only hint of classic animation I saw was about 5 seconds of Steamboat Willie, which looked like a low-quality Youtube video from about 2005. Both characters came in near the top in their artificial ranking, but behind their number one pick Stewie Griffin. I guess there's something to be said for animation being paid any attention on prime time network television, but overall color me unimpressed. I understand why classic animation (had there been any) has to be conflated with garbage like Family Guy, given modern audiences, but I don't have to like it.

I was pretty disappointed as well (how did Lola get in the list instead of Tom and Jerry?) but it's not surprising considering this was mostly done by Fox. Personally, I was hoping they would used clips from Paley's archive.

And honestly, I don't consider the Mickey design ugly (granted they go too far in the shorts in terms of gags, but I digress).

The Mickey design is okay, but its very stylized and only fits into a highly stylized environment. It's artsy and cool, I get it, but also somewhat limiting. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like that's the official representation of Mickey now.

Not exactly, but this design is part of the current logo for "Disney Television Animation".
