Here's an interesting find on this site - a rare Bugs Bunny birthday short special:

I don't consider that rare since it's on the Golden Collections. But the only difference is that it removed the clips of Bugs Bunny in films that WB doesn't own (like Who Framed Roger Rabbit) unlike on the Happy Birthday Bugs 50 Looney Years VHS. And it was because of copyrights from Disney since they own the film.

It's expensive, but here's  a 16mm IB Tech print of Pinocchio. It says it's from 1947, meaning it must have the original RKO titles. While there are no screenshots of them, there is an end title; it looks identical to the one we're familiar with, but it still looks a little bit different to me.

A blue track?

Still, this looks gorgeous! Better than how several Disney films look on Blu-ray. (The most recent release of Pinocchio did have relatively accurate colors like these...but it also had DNR.)

Around the same time I got a deal for "Doing What's Fright"starring Casper, there was a Harveytoon TV print listed of the rarely seen on TV "No Ifs, and, or Butts" that has the now-hard-to-find cutoff ending.

Now it's back.

Now here's something interesting: a Belgian 35mm IB Tech of "Half-Fare Hare" ! (One of the screenshots has French and Dutch subtitles.)

I never expected a 35mm print of a Looney Tunes cartoon with some French and Dutch subtitles.

That's weird to me, never knew their existed another reissue print with the mid 50's green Looney Tunes opening rings and the late 50's blue closing rings at the end.

The seller says that he replaced the opening titles and about a minute after that with footage from a Kodak SP print because of water damage, so the opening titles are most likely not the original release titles.

Here are some goodies that sold in the recent past, all from the same seller:

The seller also had other cartoon prints for sale, including a few original 16mm A.A.P. TV prints of Fleischer Popeye cartoons and some 16mm Technicolor and Eastmancolor prints of 1960s Paramount cartoons.

I'm sure that the end title on that print of Pinocchio is not original, either, as it doesn't have the "Distributed by R.K.O. Radio Pictures, Inc." tag, so it's likely derived from the film's first reissue in 1945.

Hmm..RKO still re-released it in the 4s and 50s, so it must have come in 1962.

$360 for a Casper cartoon (even if it is a 35mm IB Tech)? With a spliced-on Paramount end logo that looks really damaged?

At least the seller didn't price it in the $3k range.

Yeah I know, ridiculous right?

Davespeanuts has overpriced their cartoons so much, I asked this guy about what cartoons he had and would be willing to make an offer instead of listing it!

The starting price was $24.99. The problem is the fanatical bidders who would do anything to prevent others from getting old prints, even if it meant spending their whole paycheck. (What kind of jobs do several of these bidders have that they can afford to spend $360 on old cartoons?)

On another note, it could be because the Famous cartoons have a reputation for being decidedly elusive, especially with original opening titles. That Belgian print of "Half-Fare Hare" I linked to earlier ended at only $71.
