Well that sucks! I loved his performance in "The Three Little Bops."

A very beloved humorist.

He was also probably one of the first guest stars to work with the Muppets. During the early years of "Sam and Friends", the Muppets used to lip-sync to his records (some of which are on Youtube). When the local Washington DC show started to become popular, word started to spared across the country of this show. When Freberg first heard about the show that was using his records without his permission, he was very angry and threaten to sue, until he saw the show and found it pretty funny. According to Freberg on a podcast, as a joke, Jim had him pop up on screen in one show where he demanded credit for the use of his records on the show and Kermit responds by hitting him on the head with a mallet. Unfortunately, that episode is lost as the show was done live and the practice of studios videotaping hasn't began yet. Plus, Jim didn't do kinescopes for his show unless it was of importance in experimenting.

I was shocked to hear this.........almost none of the WB cartoon staff exists anymore. I can remember a time when Chuck Jones was still around when they played his masterpieces......

Isn't it a coindence that I saw a Bugs and Pete Puma cartoon on Boomerang the night before Freberg died, along with reading the Jim Henson biography?

How I loved his performance as Pete Puma in "Rabbit's Kin" and many others, now I'm shocked that he's dead. But we will remember him as a legend in Looney Tunes voice acting roles.

I cannot think of a single individual that did more to shape my sense of humor as well as influence my ultimate career choice than Stan Freberg.

I had an uncle who loved the guy and had all his early albums. As kids, we would play them over and over until we knew all the lines by heart.

I wish I could locate a complete copy of the Chinese New Year TV special he did for Chun King back in the day.
