Flicker Alley and the 3-D Film Archive's new 3-D Blu-ray is up for pre-order direct from Flicker Alley's website or Amazon (the former is offering it cheaper at the moment). Of course 3-D compatible equipment is required to watch the set as fully intended but it will be playable flat as well.

Of note to animation fans is the stop-motion car-assembles-iteslf short NEW DIMENSIONS (aka MOTOR RHYTHM), 4 Norman McLaren shorts licensed from NFB Canada, Beany and Cecil in puppet-form demonstrating NATURAL VISION 3-DIMENSION, the cool space-age stop-mo ADVENTURES OF SAM SPACE and the Paramount Casper toon BOO MOON (with commentary by Thad Komorowski).

Bonus features include 3-D photo galleries of Sam Sawyer View-Master Reels and 3-D Comic Books(!).

Anyways, I'm quite excited for this set! Hopefully it sells well. (And Thad Komorowski, in addition to the Boo Moon commentary and liner notes, is also doing some restoration work  on the set.)

It certainly looks fascinating - I hope it does well, too.

Kind of a pricy discs, if it goes for 20 i might get it.

I really want this set, but the 3D experience will be lost on me. I only knew one friend whose parents had a 3DTV and now the friend is presumably moving. One, I am happy with my current flat-screen, can play Steve's blu-rays, and two, I don't know if 3D TV's would be manfactured for future 4K and 8K sets, so even if I get a fancy TV I don't know if 3D will be on there.


(And yes, I know I can play the disc flat).

At least you have the ability to see 3D films in 3D. 3D doesn't "work" for me because I was born cross-eyed.

Thad Komorowski (who, of course, is providing commentaries and liner notes for 3-D Rarities) has interviewed Bob Furmanek about his work on this set. The interview is now available on the latest edition (as of this posting) of the WBGO Journal .
