Oh, I almost forgot that this was happening tomorrow... and also on August 9th (even though those were taped already). What a trooper this guest is... coming in from Australia to do the show in person.

Anyway, here's the description:

"Keith will be in-studio and he's flying in from Australia to do so, too! Keith is not only one of the greatest impressionists on the planet, he's also one of the greatest voiceover actors AND a terrific author! Here's proof - his new book, "Cartoon Voices of the Golden Age, 1930-70" is a masterpiece that took him years of research to compile. This two-volume set is the most complete reference series not only on the voices behind your favorite classic theatrical cartoons from the major studios, but is also an in-depth history of how they began, flourished, and eventually shut down, some giving in to television. In the first of two parts, Keith will discuss the voiceover and studio histories of the Warner Brothers and MGM Animation departments, run by Leon Schlesinger and Fred Quimby respectively. He'll go into great detail and provide the most complete information for all of the people behind some of your favorite cartoons...Warner Brothers, for example, was not just Mel Blanc. We'll also screen cartoons from each studio - cartoons that have not been shown to death over the years (Keith will provide full background info on each), and we'll read your e-mails. Animation fans are not going to want to miss this!"

Here are the cartoons that were shown on this episode:

Sinkin' in the Bathtub (Warners, 1930)

Lady Play Your Mandolin (Warners (1931)

Toyland Broadcast (MGM, 1934)

The Chinese Nightingale (MGM, 1935)

By the way, for those who miss the first hour of the show (like me), or those that miss the whole show, when does the episode get posted on Vimeo?

Stu will sometimes post shows on Vimeo for free (usually it will be shows that he really likes), but otherwise he'll make it available on Vimeo via PPV which is there now. Of course those who are VIPs have already gotten both parts after the recording session was finished.

But wait, there's more! As I said earlier, there's a part 2 to this that will air on August 9th, and here's the description:

"The show continues its look back at the voices behind the theatrical cartoons from the 1930s through 1970 in the second of two parts. This time out, Keith traces the history of both the Columbia/Screen Gems and Universal/Walter Lantz cartoon factories, with an emphasis on the actors behind the characters, all covered in Keith's fantastic 2-volume set, "Cartoon Voices of the Golden Age, 1930-70". We'll also screen two cartoons from each studio."
