So recently, I just purchased Wings of the Hawk 3D on Blu-Ray, suggested by a friend of mine. It just so happened to contain a restoration of a Woody Woodpecker cartoon that came alongside the film, titled Hypnotic Hick.

I was actually quite impressed with how good it looks, considering that it came from the 3-D Film Archives, alongside the film itself. Hypnotic Hick (1953), restored by 3-D Film Archives

Not sure if Universal will open up to this kind of thing since this only happened once, but Universal does have a good following with Kino Lorber when it comes to old films, so who knows. Although I'm not saying this will happen soon, it's just how Universal sees profits in this.

Absolutely not. It was a special restoration by the 3D archive, which is how it is able to happen, and properly! Do not expect anymore unless things change

Fair enough. I don't expect it to happen anytime soon myself.
