Both have aired before, but Little Dutch Plate is from a reissue, I think it's one of the few that didn't get photoshopped somehow. The original end title (standard Jester) is up on one of those reels Steve scanned that Jerry uploaded years back

Magical Maestro will be airing on MeTV tomorrow. Since I just watched it uncut for the first time yesterday. It will be interesting to see how/if they censor it.

Just saw a Saturday Morning Cartoons commercial during Happy Days and Saturday Evening Puss was on there!

I think they also do that for the opening to The Tom and Jerry Show. Doesn't mean they're gonna show it.

Although I'm not going to start that conversation because I would anger S.C. MacPeter that way.

Instead, I'm going to ask, if you could suggest Toon in with Me to play anything on Viewer's Choice, what would it be and why?

I'm back on the forum, guys! Also currently in Pakistan on vacation. Anyways, going back on topic and replying to some messages that intrigued me:

Um, MacPeter? The titles are photoshopped in the new "restoration". Look closely at the opening titles, please.

They will censor it, yes. They'll likely get rid of both the Chinese and blackface stereotypes, but I am not even going to explain this due to a recent controversy of censorship on this forum.

Already knew about that! Too bad that they won't show it.

Honestly, RareSox, I would just go ahead and request anything that isn’t problem-laden. My reason? I'm really getting tired of the "reruns" nonsense, and when I requested "Porky's Last Stand" like last week ago, my request has yet to be approved or must have been rejected; I don't know, but I am not going to mop around or fret on this. Unless I was doing something wrong and someone can tell me how to properly send submissions to MeTV, then feel free to let me know via private messages.

I would sleep very easily tonight if someone such as Thad confirmed if "Mexican Joyride" is restored. While I am fine with "Pappy's Puppy" airing unrestored, I would be outright distraught if the former isn't, because that is one of my favorite LT cartoons, and I am worried sick about it's condition at WB right now. That’s all I will say on this subject, because I don’t want to get in trouble for fretting about this.

I’ve noticed that many of these new restorations are completely lacking in film grain.

Was this level of grain-scrubbing done to make the photoshopped credit sequences seem less obvious?

From what I know, the second part may not be true; they’ve been doing this with the color Popeyes and Tex Averys (the latter from Volumes 1 and 3) as well, and those have zero photoshopped titles.

My going assumption re: the film grain was that it was scrubbed to make it all look less “old”; the same reason Disney scrubs their films of grain to make them look as close to Pixar product as possible.

That’s the same reason they photoshop these titles; so they can be cropped to fit a widescreen TV without losing any copyright info. It’s a shame people can’t just sit down and watch the full cartoon with no cropping done. People are weird.

Honestly, there isn't really an excuse to photoshop the titles to begin with. As one person I know on YouTube said, they could have just used borders like how the Golden Collection prints did, so it doesn't make any sense to manipulate them with photoshop.

When I was watching Magical Maestro this weekend. I swear I saw the magician as a Chinese guy for 1 second. Please prove or disprove this so i can get it straight.

You will have to ask MTGM about that; he’s the expert on these edits done for MeTV.

Honestly (I repeat for the third time...), it surprises me that people talk about and American television edits the Chinese and blackface scenes in that cartoon, yet, everybody completely overlooks the fact that the Maestro was briefly turned into an American Indian at one point by the Magician...

Yep. The Indian scene aired intact. So why not Bugs Bonnets? Also who is this MTGM? How could I contact him?

Hey, you, me, and everybody else over here, we'll all never be able to understand TV censorship; too many holes and hypocrisy. This same mentality goes with HBO Max, where they're perfectly fine with characters acting like Native Americans, but this doesn't apply to MeTV as well.

As for MTGM, he's a user on this website and Twitter who reports on what goes around with MeTV airings, but I'd highly advise you don't go messaging him about requests to post updates here because I don't want him to get irritated. Just saying, so let's be patient.

Either way, I'm not sure if this topic should continue on, because I've already gotten in trouble for perviously going overboard with censorship, speculation, and E-begging. Just want to keep being on the safe side and be on good terms with the admins.

We might as well speak up on a topic we could get behind.

3/12 is set to air Screwball Football, and I want a confirmation if it's restored or not. If it is, it could follow the line of restorations for the year that I Wanna Be a Sailor started for 2022.

We can only HOPE it is. They have a huge luck with the B&W and pre-1948 one-shot color shorts.

Also, I heard that “Of Fox and Hounds” is also set to air as well.

And we know that A Tale of Two Mice is set to air restored, so hopefully, we get a look at how that works out.

When exactly does that air? It is restored (botched…), yes, but I’m just wondering when.

Tom and Jerry In The Hollywood Bowl is set to air this Saturday. It's ashame that it won't have its original titles restored like MeTv restores everything else. MeTv also has All This and Rabbit Stew Restored but that will never air.

Uh, pretty sure MeTV doesn't handle the restoration work. That's on the content providers (WB, MGM, etc.).

You do realize that it's not going to show up anytime soon. Or ever, for that matter.

If it gets leaked online, I'd be surprised.

But we're not supposed to bring up racism in a cartoon forum.

So, I supposed The Hollywood Bowl wasn't restored with the original titles because the original negatives burned up in a fire back in the 60s, my guess.
