If you remember on the old IAD Forum site, I did a topic about my idea of Kids WB as a 24-hour channel. So now I'm going to bring back this topic with some new updates I did recently.

The channel would be like the old school Cartoon Network showcasing mainly re-runs of classic cartoons WB Animation has. Like the Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Hanna-Barbera, and many more. And a new show aired exclusively to the channel.

Re-runs
  • Looney Tunes
  • Speedy And Daffy & Friends (featuring the Speedy Gonzales, Daffy Duck, and assorted nuts or one-shot cartoons)
  • The Black & White Looney Tunes Show (showcasing black & white Looney Tunes from 1930-1943)
  • Tom And Jerry & Friends (featuring the Tom & Jerry, Tex Avery, and Barney Bear MGM cartoons)
  • Popeye cartoons
  • Hanna-Barbera cartoons from 1957-1993
  • United Artist DePatie-Freleng cartoons from 1964-1980
  • Tiny Toon Adventures
  • Animaniacs
  • Pinky & The Brain
  • Freakazoid
  • Taz-Mania
  • The Sylvester And Tweety Mysteries
  • Duck Dodgers
  • Batman: The Animated Series
  • Superman: The Animated Series

    you name it.....

The only new show I made up is new Hanna-Barbera reboots which I did a topic  on.

So what do you think of my idea? How I wish this would happen for reals.

Well I'd watch it. Love the idea of giving the B&W's some treatment. A weekday hour of Terrytoons and/or Noveltoons would also be pure nostalgia. Maybe throw in a Friday or Saturday night block for all the offbeat restorations from Thunderbean. Call it the Thunderbean Show. And recreate a SatAM lineup for the weekend.

And to make the best network ever, Three Stooges and old movie serials on Sunday mornings. Those things and cartoons seem to go together, but others might not like it.

How about making it a premium channel like the old Disney Channel? No commercial breaks mid-program. Have a free preview weekend every so often.

Also, no station bugs. And show as many cartoons as you possibly can in 1080p HD!

Bradskey: As much as I LOVE your ideas, they're more suited for a classic cartoon channel in general. This thread is for a Kids WB revival.

I did get an idea of a reboot of the old school Disney Channel called "Disney Premium". It would be Disney's own premium channel showcasing not only re-runs of old school Disney Channel shows, kids shows, cartoons, Disney Television Animation shows, and all of that, but also new and original shows made exclusively for the channel done in this fashion. And yes, it would be commercial free since it would be a premium channel.

Heck, I even mentioned about that on Disney Wiki's forum .

The premium early years of Disney Channel had more than Disney content you know
It had The Raccoons, The Beatles Cartoons, The Fabulous Fleischer Folios, Spot The Dog, Paddington, Rupert, TV Specials like The Boy Who Dreamed Christmas and many others

Not to mention "The Hoober-Bloob Highway" (promos for it and "Ludwig's Think Tank" here ; commercials from after it aired here  (though the ending of "Think Tank" is at the beginning)) and various foreign cartoons (much like Nickelodeon), including anime! (Apparently Sanrio's two Unico films were a regular part of the lineup during the 80s.)

I can't believe non-Disney stuff dwindled over the years! Disney Channel had more to watch then their own product, which phased out starting in the 90s. I really wish "One Saturday Morning" would've had more programs from different companies.

To go back on-topic I think a 24-hour Kids WB Channel is a great idea.

And yeah, make it subscription only. Have cable companies charge more then they would with HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Encore, etc.

And no focus groups, please! If you're feeling you want more original programming that jumps the channel above a shark, then retire the channel. It's that simple. No classic animation channel can last forever!

Reminds me how many European Cartoon Network channels worked some years ago. They had some old series, some new ones from CN Studios, some WB Animation series (Batman, Superman, S&T Mysteries, Animaniacs, etc.) and some productions by other companies (Flying Rhino Junior High, The Fruitties, Dragonball Z, etc.). There was a great variety and it ran 24/7. I remember how I waited until about 2AM in the morning to watch The New Adventures of Captain Planet on CN Italy (with the English audio track) because I had not seen it before.
