I'm hearing some disturbing reports of some people being redirected to other sites (such as "The Doctors") when they try to access the IAD. I don't know if it's a local problem with specific computers or a website problem. Is anyone else having his issue?

I'm having this problem as well. In fact, this happened a lot when I visited websites using the Google Chrome browser for the past few months. I had to uninstall Chrome and switch to a different web browser. I don't have this problem very often with Firefox. However, the redirecting to a different site is happening on my iPhone when I use Safari.

I'm thinking it may be malware relating to the web browser. I don't really have this problem when I log on to secure websites (such as Google or my university's website).

Yes - I couldn't understand why I was having this problem as all scans of my computer came back clean (Windows 7, Google Chrome), but it seems it's an Internet-wide issue:

Have a read through some of the top results - someone's set up a malicious advertisement that redirects people somehow.

Well, I've done a little looking around and here's what I've found:

It's not just us. The Cracked website is also saying they've had the problem. It seems to stem from a specific ad provider.

It only seems to affect the Google Chrome browser.

If you are having the problem, got to your settings in Google Chrome and click on "Extensions." Look for any extensions that may be there that you haven't downloaded yourself. That may indicate that you have the problem. Delete them, and that should clear up the problem.

I had multiple problems with dead links and lost data. I have been a member for years of the forum, but had to re-register. Any experts out there who can help me recover my status as a long time member, and not a newbie? Thanks!

A lot of that doesn't sound like a site problem. The problem we had wouldn't make you lose data. As far as recovering status as a log time member, that's just one of the issues with having to transfer to new software. I wish I could have converted the whole old board over to the newer software but, unfortunately, it's just too big a project.

I am using Google Chrome and I do not experience this problem. However, I do have AdBlock software in use on all sites, so maybe that's why I haven't had this happen at all.

I know that this probably isn't the greatest solution, but I'd definitely recommend installing an AdBlock software if you're a Google Chrome user (or any other browser that's having this issue) and are experiencing this problem.

I use AdBlock Plus on FireFox and like I said, I never had this problem since.

I did, so that's why I got myself some APB adblock software for my MacBook.
