That was one of my childhood favorites...seeing that print makes me sick...
Honestly, there were only 2 Metrocolor prints they used in that set that looked somewhat decent. Those being "Puss Gets the Boot" and "The Lonesome Mouse". Everything else looks horrid.
It really is sickening when you compare them. I had been watching "Zoot Cat" off the Blu-ray for years and almost forgotten how much better the colors are supposed to look. Now I have trouble looking at it on the BD.
"Puss Gets the Boot" actually looks pretty decent despite being sourced from a TV negative. You can tell the picture quality is not up to snuff with the surrounding cartoons that were restored from first-rate sources; but the color looks nicer than any of the old video prints I've seen. (And it doesn't have the 60s MGM lion logo, either.)
When it comes to "The Lonesome Mouse"... yeah, it's not the worst example I've seen. But the colors aren't exactly optimal on that, either.
