Like the description for this topic states, this is a revival of an old topic from the (thankfully) archived TTTP forums. The basis remains the same. If there's a tune from a golden age cartoon that you don't know the name of, inquire here, and one of us JUST might be able to help you out. I'll start us off:
-Haredevil Hare's title card music (might be either a silent film cue or a Stalling original) (found: "Rough Riders' March")
-Hip-Hip-Hurry's title card music (also turns up in the "Planet Patrol" pilot film on Thunderbean's "Mid Century Modern Vol. 1)
-jaunty bassoon track from "Pre-Hysterical Hare" that plays when we first see the sabertooth bunny (I know, awful cartoon, but I loooove that track!)
-title card music for "Hair-Raising Hare" and "The Hare-Brained Hypnotist" (silent film cue?)
-dramatic music in "8 Ball Bunny" during the map scene with Bugs and Playboy traveling the globe (Stalling original according to SABAM)

To me, a creepy (Lik the short) but I love it. A John Seely-Capityl Records track, there were actually a number of composers. I've a got lot of this from a file sharing service (which I won't name) but could be an unidentified piece by bassonist Spencer Moore, whose piece (none of which or a ny others of these had anything but descriptions he he and numbers and letters)) "L-1158 ANIMATION COMEDY", a short collecton of bassoon sounds, was used in "Gopher Broke" when the barnyard dog from the Foghorn Leghorns keeps seeing that pig...
The piece YOU mention was used in a Gumby short (also about gophers) Gopher Trouble, and in a Davey and Goliath. I also love it.

How'd you find the result at SABAM? I went there to the English language site, and searched the same short ano no results.

It's listed under "BUGS BUNNY EIGHT BALL BUNNY". Due to the picky way the site has its search set up, sometimes it's easier to search by another song that plays in the short. In this case, I searched for "Don't Sweetheart Me", since that song also plays in "8 Ball Bunny".

BTW, just so there's no confusion: This is a completely different song than a song with the same title composed by Karl L. King. Unfortunately I have been unable to find the Riesenfeld version online to listen to- not even on iTunes.

-slow big-band piece that opens "Back Alley Op-Roar" (found: "Sweet Dreams, Sweetheart")
-title card tune in "Quiet Please!", (the Tom and Jerry, not the Popeye of the similar name) which also plays throughout the beginning of the cartoon
-title card music in "Joint Wipers" (possibly a Rodemich original, but since he often used pop music, wouldn't be surprised if this was a piece of popular music also...)

I would like to know a particular piece that was used in several '30's Terrytoons. I forget which ones, but the tune was later used as the theme music to the Mexican sitcom, "El Chavo".
