He needs to use a better capture device. Something
like this , I think. Then he'd be able to scan in at real-time, extract the full dynamic range, and not have to do multiple exposures per frame. There's software already developed for this for anyone who's interested, and it can be done with 35mm and 70mm too. When done well the results are far from amateur, and are quite a bit better than traditional telecine machines. It is cool though that he developed his own solution - it just shows how easy it is!
