For years now as many of you know, we've been doing a lot of the Telecine work here in Detroit. There's still one Post house that has a decent HD telecine, and for many years I've been transferring a majority of the Thunderbean stuff on that machine, along with the 'special' discs.

In recent times it's becoming clear that since there's less and less of this type of work done locally, it's hard to say if the Telecine, an expensive machine to maintain, will stay. One of the recent comments made was that the company will no longer support it should it go down and require repair. This means I've now been given notice that the time to keep transferring may be limited, since it's hard to say if and when that machine won't be available.

Of course, I'll continue to do our 'real' releases, and as it stands, I've been doing more work using a laser graphics 4k scanner (a more modern but also expensive machine). The little 'special' sets I do could never be done that way since the cost of transfer is much higher.

All of that said, I'm debating now doing some more of the special sets at all- but there's still some things I'd like to do, including a print of a feature I've been trying to get rights to for many years, and may still at some point.

I'll be likely listing some of these things soon here, and they may be faster and more furious that usual. I'll also likely ask the forum here what ones you folks are most interested in. That said, perhaps there's a possibility in the cards of a telecine sitting at the office sometime in the near future. Sigh! S

They're great, but the kind of machines couldn't do what I'm looking for sadly! I did almost buy one a little while back....

Steve, here are a few things that I would LOVE to see raw and yet WAY better in detail and can be cleaned LATER!

1. Do a Censered 11 special disk but make it with the best elements you can get. I want to see Coal Black in 1080.

2. Release all of your Popeye scans in 1080 along with some other Fleischer stuff, make it a double special set!

3. I would love to see a Mighty Mouse HD set

4. Alice In Wonderland?

5. A set of toons in Blu all about SPACE. No overlapping on yhings that are already on commercial blu ray. How bout some of the more rare WB, Fleischer Disney etc. Include Stop Frame on this one along with some real time footage blend toons if those exist.

6. 3D animation blu ray, do the transfers on materials you can get right now and put it out with a deal from those 3D Arcive people?

Theres my Dream sets Steve

Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs was actually released in 1080p on special disc #1, although the color is very dark (I'm not sure if that's due to the print or the transfer). I have a pretty nice 16mm print of Coal Black (and its kinda-sorta sequel, Tin Pan Alley Cats, also on the Censored 11 list), but no way to digitize them.

For me, I want to see the pre-1943 black and white Looney Tunes from the PD (that were not released on DVD and/or Blu Ray by WB yet) in HD transfers.

A disc that every scourging and backstabbing Paul Terry completionist should have. Fables/Terrytoon transfers to whatever you can name it. Maybe Kaulser's 35mm "The Explorer" print that he mentioned would be an appropriate time for him to ship it to you before the telecine's fate gets near.

Maybe an Oswald disc would be suitable too.
